Sermon Passage: 1 John 2:1-6
Sermon Title: Jesus: Our Beloved Advocate
Sermon Big Idea: As believers, we are freed from sin’s power but not its presence. When we fall, Jesus is our advocate, securing our forgiveness and growth. We live faithfully not to earn salvation but in response to it. Because we love and trust Jesus, we commit to continual growth in Christlikeness. This pursuit is both our desire and obligation—one that flows from the heart.
Sermon Points:
Acknowledge our need for Jesus our advocate (1 John 2:1)
Recognize Jesus as the best and only advocate (1 John 2:1-2)
Understand obedience is a result of salvation not its cause (1 John 2:3-5)
Passionately live like Jesus (1 John 2:6)
